Statement from Cynthia Cornejo, Interim Registrar of Voters, Alameda County

September 4, 2026

As we prepare for the upcoming November 3, 2026, General Election, we remain focused on serving voters and ensuring a safe, secure, fair and accessible election. We continue to track developments in the courts that may affect election administration and are prepared to respond as necessary. While the courts consider these matters, Alameda County will continue to administer elections in accordance with current law and established procedures. In other words, we do not anticipate any changes to our election processes at this time.

Voters can continue to trust the established election processes, procedures, and safeguards that remain in place to ensure every voter can cast their ballot securely. We remain committed to administering a fair, accurate, secure, and accessible election, and we encourage all voters to participate and vote with confidence.

We invite all voters to visit the Registrar of Voter’s website for the latest information about the November 3 General Election at https://acvote.alamedacountyca.gov/election-information/elections?id=260#. The website is your source for important election updates and deadlines, information on how and when to return your Vote by Mail ballot and locations and directions for Official Ballot Drop Boxes and Vote Centers.

Voters are encouraged to return their ballots early at any Official 24-hour Drop Box or Vote Center conveniently located throughout Alameda County. Returning your ballot early helps ensure your vote is received and processed timely. Of course, you remain welcome to vote by mail or in-person at a Vote Center.

Make your voice heard. Make a plan. Vote with confidence!

Sincerely, Cynthia Cornejo

Interim Registrar of Voters, Alameda County
