Language Accessibility Advisory Committee (LAAC)

The Language Accessibility Advisory Committee (LAAC) is a panel that provides input to the Alameda County Registrar of Voters on enhancing accessibility for voters who primarily speak languages other than English. As part of its commitment to language accessibility, the Registrar of Voters' Office works closely with four language-specific committees that focus on the needs of distinct linguistic communities:
  1. Spanish-speaking Community
  2. Chinese-speaking Community
  3. Vietnamese-speaking Community
  4. Tagalog-speaking Community

These committees ensure that materials, services, and outreach efforts are effectively tailored to meet the unique needs of each community, supporting Alameda County's implementation of the Voter’s Choice Act. Together, these efforts promote equitable access to voting for individuals with limited English proficiency.
